You will need:
-a pair of plain heels
-elastic (if you don't have any lying around your house, you can find it at a craft store)
-ribbon
-hot glue gun
-rhinestones + superglue (optional!)

Step 1: Cut 2 strips of elastic into approx. 4"-long pieces. Make a loop and hot-glue the ends together on each separate piece.
Step 2: Glue the loop about halfway down the inside heel of your shoes.
Step 3: Make a V-cut in your ribbon by folding your ribbon in half and snipping the edge off at an angle.
VOILA: Thread your ribbon through the loop, put your shoes on, and tie a bow. When you've figured out the length of ribbon you need, cut the remaining ribbon off with a V-snip. (I needed a little over 2.5 ft of ribbon for each shoe--I wanted a big bow!)
You can either quit here and bask in your beribboned glory, as follows:
Or you can battle on and continue to more Lanvin-like looks! Be warned: this is not for the weak-willed.
Step 4: Grab some superglue and start gluing. FYI, this takes forever. I used a pair of tweezers and a dot of E6000 for each rhinestone. You can also experiment with brushing the glue on and attaching the rhinestones that way--I didn't try this but it probably works just as well and will save you time and tears.

ta da!
Try putting different colors of ribbon or even old necklaces through the elastic loop for more variation!
